We have been setting a trap for this little dickens on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day ever since my son Grayson, now 11, was in preschool. Really, I’m not sure why we do it, except that Grayson, way back then, said we needed to.
Now it’s a tradition. We never get very elaborate, it’s usually just a laundry basket propped up with a T-square. No wonder we never catch him. But he always leaves behind fancy donuts! I can’t wait!
Wait a Minute! Who has time to Draw AND Cook!

One day a week or so ago, I was oogling Lisa Graves’ artwork, and found out about a fabulously clever project called They Draw and Cook. I knew it was something I had to do, so I put it on the back burner, and it simmered for several days. Well, then just yesterday I was Ooh la la-ing over Vanessa Brantley Newton’s work and the timer went off. Time to bake!
Here’s my submission for They Draw and Cook. Thanks, Nate and Salli, for cooking this up!
Illustration Friday– Subterranean
He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of His work.
He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate– bringing forth food from the earth:
wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains the heart.
Psalm 104:13-15
Our garden isn’t subterranean just yet, but I’m ready!
Get Ready!
